What purpose does the AAC have?
Sub-committee of the Board of Directors
Do not have the legal powers or accountability that maintained schools GB’s have but:
The roles of a AAC are similar, they:
- Hold the headteacher to account
- Look after the interests of the children in the school
- Understand the standards in the school and report to directors
- Make sure the school is keeping the children safe
- Understand the school community and its needs
- Help the school appoint staff
