Join an Academy Advisory Council

The Sovereign Trust is looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join our Academy Advisory Councils (AACs).

Our AACs provide valuable local insight and act as an important link between each academy, its parents and carers, and the wider community. Members support the Trust by sharing their knowledge and experience, considering the academy’s priorities and providing constructive support and challenge to academy leaders.

You do not need previous experience in education or governance. We welcome people from all backgrounds who are interested in improving the experiences and outcomes of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

As an AAC member, you will be expected to attend meetings, undertake occasional academy visits, complete relevant training and contribute positively to the work of the council. Training and ongoing support will be provided.

The role is voluntary, and appointments are subject to appropriate eligibility and safeguarding checks.
